As we enter our fourth week of self isolation, we wanted to reach out to you and give you an update on the actions we have taken at David Fowkes Jewellery in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
We continue to follow the government’s guidance: the shutters to our business remain firmly closed and our staff are safe in their homes. We realise that with a little more free time available than normal, people are enjoying reading and learning. We are using our Facebook
feeds to run weekly quizzes, provide gemstone education, showcase some of the techniques our Goldsmiths use, and share photographs of David’s beautiful designs. Please do pop on and enjoy the photographs, videos and stories, and share with us your comments and stories.
For clients who are mid-way through commissions, we are keeping in contact via email to provide relevant updates. New clients are contacting us via firstname.lastname@example.org to explore commission ideas. A number of people have been clearing out their cupboards and have come across old or inherited jewellery than they no longer wear. We are experts in ‘reworking’ jewellery, melting down existing bullion and using gemstones to make new pieces of jewellery to be worn and loved. If you are curious to know more, we have been running a story on social media each Saturday to explain the ‘own metal cast’ process: do take a look. And if you find jewellery that you might like to rework, please do email us photos and we will happily chat through the process with you in preparation for some post-lockdown, jewellery up-cycling, fun!
We hope that you continue to stay at home, safe and well, and we look forward to seeing you all as soon as is safely possible.
