David Fowkes is proudly supporting The John Eastwood Hospice as their chosen charity for all fundraising activities in 2019. The Hospice provide palliative care for patients with complex needs. Life, however limited, is very important: the hospice aims to enhance the lives of patients by removing painful symptoms and restoring comfort and dignity, so that they can enjoy their surroundings, relatives and friends.
David became aware of the hospice when a client, Brian Hawkins, shared his phenomenal fundraising journey. Brian’s late wife was cared for by the hospice some fifteen years ago: since her passing, Brian has walked over 70,000 miles and raised over £310,000 in support of the hospice. Inspired by Brian’s commitment and efforts, David visited the Hospice and met with Brian and the Trust Manager, Diane Humphreys. He learnt more about the work of the Hospice and how they are supported through charitable giving.
As a result of the visit, David committed to supporting the Hospice through fundraising activities. These will include a long walk with Brian this summer in the Nottinghamshire countryside. David will be inviting clients and friends to join him and his team on the walk, and to make donations to support this wonderful charity. Further details of the summer walk and other 2019 fundraising events will be announced in late Spring.
