Preparing the Wax
After the ring design has been agreed, the ring is created in wax.
The wax is attached to the 'tree'. Plaster is poured into the cylindrical mould.
The wax is removed. Gold is melted - either the client's own gold or new gold - and it is poured into the plaster.
Filing and Polishing
The Goldsmith uses hand tools to refine the piece. Stones are set and finally, the piece is polished.
The Final Commission
Re-birth: the new ring retains the memories and sentiment, whilst giving the client a unique, elegant and ultimately wearable piece of jewellery with which to create new memories.
